Maroon 5 has just dropped its video for “Cold”, in which front man Adam Levine has a strange and trippy adventure after somebody slips something into his drink when he goes to a party at the home of rapper Future in order to hear the verse he put together for the track.
Like a Fellini film combined with an acid trip, Levine encounters all manner of psychedelic weirdness during the party, ranging from a horse-headed woman who tries to entice him into a threesome, a “cartoon stripper” who offers a lap dance, levitating police cars and a female bodybuilder who throws him into a swimming pool, where he witnesses an underwater wedding in which none of the participants have any eyes.
As if that’s not bizarre enough, Future transforms into a teddy bear while one member of Maroon 5 becomes a fish and another has an erotic encounter with a giant chicken, and he returns home to tell wife Behati Prinsloo about his insane evening (and doesn’t even forget to bring home milk!)
“Cold” is the second track released from the band’s upcoming album, following “Don’t Wanna Know” with Kendrick Lamar, although the band is keeping details of the album under wraps.
During a recent appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, Levine admitted they have yet to decide on a title or a release date.
“Like, in a few months,” Levine told DeGeneres of when the album is expected to be released. “I don’t know exactly when so I’m going to be as vague as possible.”
