SPOILER ALERT: Anyone who has yet to witness what went down in the latest episode of “The Bachelor” should stop reading NOW, because spoilers lie ahead.
The moment we’ve all been waiting for finally happened on this week’s episode of “The Bachelor”: Rachel Lindsay was sent home.
Weeks after being announced as the next Bachelorette, Rachel and Nick finally went their separate ways on Monday’s episode of the ABC dating show — proving exactly why the Dallas attorney deserves her own shot at love.
“I really thought we had a really, really good thing,” Rachel (who looked GORGEOUS, by the way) cried after Nick handed out his final two roses to Raven Gates and Vanessa Grimaldi. “I felt like I put all of me out there. Maybe it was too late, because it’s hard for me to do that sometimes because of what I went through.”
“You’re one of the most incredible women I’ve ever met in my entire life,” Nick replied. “Selfishly, I hope someday this won’t be a goodbye forever, cause it is so hard to say goodbye to you.”
Hearing how amazing she was didn’t exactly made Rachel feel better.
“It’s hard to hear, you know, how great you are and how much love somebody has for you, but they still don’t choose you. I swear, that’s like the story of my life,” she confessed. “Like, I know how great it could’ve been, but maybe I didn’t show all of that. Maybe he didn’t get that from me. I want someone to have like, undeniable, unconditional, unexplainable love for me. And I want to be able to feel the same way.”
“It’s like back to square one,” she added.
So what led Nick to make his decision? Well, Monday night’s episode picked up the morning after Nick’s fantasy suite date with Raven… which clearly ended with a happy ending.
Rachel’s date came next, which seemed to go well, as the 31-year-old attorney finally confessed her love for The Bachelor. “I’m falling in love with you,” she revealed, to confirmation from Nick.
“Rachel, I’m falling for you,” he gushed.
It seems Nick just couldn’t get over his connection with Vanessa, however — despite the conflict on their date.
“Your family is very traditional. I’m not,” Nick told the 29-year-old Canadian beauty, who refused to compromise on continuing her Sunday tradition with her family in Montreal.
“We do devote three hours a week, knowing we’ll see each other on Sundays,” she said, before expressing her own concerns to the camera following Nick’s inability to “picture” a Canadian life. “Could this actually work?”
It seems a night alone was all the pair needed to see a future, however, as Vanessa later made the final two.
While Rachel’s goodbye was definitely hard to watch, she’s certainly got a lot to look forward to. Find out more about our next Bachelorette in the video below, and tune in to the season finale of The Bachelor Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
