The fifth season of “Big Brother Canada” is only a week away, and producers have revealed the first eight of the 16 houseguests who’ll be burning up Canadian TV screens over the next few months. In addition, the season premiere will reveal a genius new twist that will see returning fan favourites do battle with first-time contestants.
The theme of the house for season five is “Odyssey” (which we’ll be hearing more about in the days to come), while the returnees will receive a second chance to rewrite history by taking another shot at “BBCAN” glory. Will they find the redemption they seek or blow this rare opportunity for a second chance? That’s what viewers will find out when season five of “Big Brother Canada” debuts on Wednesday, Mar. 15 on Global.
The second chance houseguests include: Gary Levy from Toronto, ON; Neda Kalantar from Vancouver, BC; Kevin Martin from Calgary, AB; and Bruno Ielo from Ottawa, ON; the first-timers who’ll be joining the wily veterans include: Andre “Dre” Gwenaelle, a masters student from Montreal, QC; Mark Chrysler, a bartender from Edmonton, AB; William Laprise Desbiens, a Marketing student from Trois-Rivieres, QB; and Emily Hawkin, a bartender from Lindsay, ON. The final batch of eight houseguests will be revealed on Thursday, Mar. 9.
Returning for her fifth season as host, Arisa Cox will once again be presiding over all the wild shenanigans within Canada’s craziest house as the houseguests compete for a grand prize of $100,000, a $30,000 home furnishing makeover from The Brick, and a new 2017 Toyota 86.
The fifth season of “Big Brother Canada” kicks off on Wednesday, Mar. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global, with additional episodes airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Full episodes will also be available to view online.
