Victoria Beckham is looking to spice up your life with her latest collection in collaboration with U.S. retailer Target.
Though she’s often been accused of shunning her pop star roots for her successful career as a fashion designer, Beckham honoured her Spice Girls past by choosing the group’s 1997 hit, “Spice Up Your Life”, as the not-so-background music for the first ad of the campaign.
Starring supermodels Sasha Pivovarova and model-of-moment Lineisy Montero, the playful video sees women and children clad in several of the collection’s chic looks walking to the beat of the Spice Girls hit.
Launching April 9 at Target and on VictoriaBeckham.com, the line includes styles for both women and children, marking Beckham’s first time designing for youngsters. “I loved being able to try my hand at designing kids’, a category I have been interested in for some time,” she told People. “I had such fun because I felt I could use my own personal experiences and tell a story through the clothes. This whole partnership was a new and exciting challenge for me, but I think challenging yourself is important in order to keep evolving and engaging new consumers.”
Beckham, who has been a lifelong style icon for many, also offered up some of her most treasured style tips to the magazine. “I think the key is just to keep it simple! Getting dressed in the morning should be easy!” she shared. “Using classic pieces like a great white shirt, or a simple shift dress are the perfect way to feel good and keep your look elevated.”
And though her fans will surely rush to get their hands on her latest designs, it’s important to note that her youngest and closest critic is already a big fan. “[My daughter Harper and I] have both worn pieces from the collection already,” she admits. “It has been a dream come true to design pieces that Harper can wear!”
