It has long been deemed that Ed Sheeran and Rupert Grint are celebrity look-alikes, but what if they are actually the same person?
Grint, 28, dropped by MTV’s “After Hours” to reveal some earth-rattling news. Disguised as Sheeran, the longtime “Harry Potter” star revealed — in a parody sketch — the two entertainers are actually the same person.
Grint yanked off his fake sleeve tattoos and proclaimed the “Shape of You” singer never existed, much to the audience’s dismay. “After ‘Potter’ all I wanted to do was stretch myself, create some real magic,” the actor explained. “So I created a character. He’d have the voice of an angel and possibly wispy facial hair. So I bought a guitar and a bunch of flannel — I called him Ed.”
After seeing his fans’ disappointment, Grint decided to go back to living life as both the English actor and the English singer.
The parody comes weeks after Grint revealed he is frequently mistaken for Sheeran. The “Harry Potter” star even appeared as the recording artist in Sheeran’s music video for “Lego House”.
