Rising Canadian Country group James Barker Band just dropped their hot new music video for “Chills” ahead of their huge national tour with Dean Brody.
ET Canada got the exclusive behind-the-scenes scoop on the band’s new video and their new sound. “Our first two singles, you know, James and I had co-written with some pretty talented, talented writers, and they were more party songs,” Taylor said of the band’s breakout party anthems. “And I think with this, it totally showcases his voice in a totally different manner,” he continued.
James Barker Band recently signed a recording deal with major label Universal and the band wants their fans to know there is a lot to their music. “This’ll be our third single,” James told ET Canada. “You already know you’ve got three songs people are gonna know that are going to encourage them to buy the album.”
And the brand new music video for “Chills” features some epic guest appearances. No, it’s not ET Canada’s own Rick Campanelli — who made a cameo in the band’s video for “Just Sayin'” — but social media lovebirds Kristen Hancher and Andrew Gregory. The two social media stars have almost 3 million followers combined.
“This is my first music video and it’s crazy that I get to do it with my boyfriend!” Kristen said. “It’s so awesome — for real.”
The band has been doing some big things as of late. Their single “Just Sayin'” ranked No. 1 on the “CMT Chevy Top 20 Countdown”, their second consecutive No. 1 with CMT. They’re also climbing up the top 10 at country radio, currently sitting comfy at number six.
Even the big boys are watching James Barker Band closely. Dierks Bentley treated cheering fans in Oshawa, Ontario to his rendition of the band’s hit song “Lawn Chair Lazy”. Bentley once hopped on stage with JBB during an ET Canada special.
