John Legend had a trying return home from his most recent getaway on Friday.
The singer had his bags stolen, and then returned to him shortly after, at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City on Friday.
The New York Daily News broke a story reporting that Legend was greeted by his cab driver at the airport, who the outlet said stole his bags. It was also reported that this driver returned shortly after with his bags, but all of this was untrue. Legend took to Twitter to clear up the confusing allegations.
“We use a trusted car service and they did not rob me. Our Delta greeter made a mistake and left a bag on the cart,” Legend wrote in a tweet.
The singer continued to clarify the situation with follow-up tweets: “The bag was taken because it was left unattended. The airport police caught the person who took it (on video) and retrieved my bag.”
Making light of the situation, he shared this tweet with the accompanying image from the film “Get Out” and said the situation has been handled:
