Christina El Moussa is standing up for herself after having her parental responsibilities questioned on Instagram.
Some users on the popular social media platform criticized the “Flip or Flop” star for allowing her 1-year-old son, Brayden, so close to the edge of a small pool. El Moussa’s daughter Taylor, 6, was having a slumber pool party with some friends in their backyard hot tub.
“Our first slumber party!!” she wrote. “Six kids, a dog and two moms. So fun, crazy, but so fun…”
A series of critical comments directed at the reality television star sparked a back-and-forth between El Moussa and one user. “No one is a hater, but as a mother it is scary to have a toddler being that close to a pool!” the user wrote.
“It’s a beach entry if he fell in it’s only a foot high, he would be okay too,” the “Flip or Flop” star replied. ” It’s not his first time in or around the pool, but thanks for your ‘concern’ a.k.a judgment… and most importantly I am right there and could be to him in three seconds.”
The user insisted she was not trying to shame El Moussa, “well that’s great if your that close, but I was commenting back to another person her on your post.” The user added how “they made it sound as if ‘haters’ would only think your son was close to the pool. When I’m very positive I’m not hating here! It just looks like he’s close and as a mother of three, yes, it looks scary. So it’s people having normal concern not hating.”
A handful of other Instagram users agreed that El Moussa’s son at-risk of hurting himself. “Is she serious? There’s water on the pool deck! What mom allows water on the pool deck?” wrote another user. “That’s dangerous; I’m a mom and I walk around with a paper towel blotting up all the water from the deck so that my kids don’t fall. All other moms are bad.”
But many came to the real estate agent’s defence. “Can we all please stop Mom hating!!!” one person wrote. “None of you are perfect!!! Nothing is more hateful than trying to bring a Mom down!”
El Moussa was also criticized earlier this week over a recent bikini shoot with her daughter for a L*Space swimwear ad campaign, but many people defended the reality star — calling it “super cute and appropriate.”
