Marvel dropped a teaser trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok” and it’s answering a lot of questions.
Chris Hemsworth is back as the Asgardian Avenger, complete with a new ‘do and a new enemy to match.
Cate Blanchett is joining the franchise as Hela, the Goddess of Death, and she’s not joking around, destroying Thor’s beloved hammer Mjolnir in the first moments of the teaser trailer.
It also seems that Hela’s destruction of the Asgardian civilization is the reason why Thor is thrown through a hole in space to the barbaric planet Sakaar, where he’s pitted against his “friend from work” The Incredible Hulk, in a deadly galactic gladiator fight club run by The Grandmaster, played by Jeff Goldblum dressed as a walking tribute to the late David Bowie.
Aside from the chaos of war, Loki being unleashed upon the world again and of course, Hela, the film looks like it’s pulling from “Guardians of the Galaxy” playbook, featuring a seriously awesome soundtrack and thanks to director Taika Waititi (who’s known for his hilarious indie films) a more lighthearted approach to the Marvel comic universe.
“Thor: Ragnarok” hits theatres Nov. 3, 2017.
