According to plan, the wedding of Elle King and fiance Andrew Ferguson was set to take place this weekend. That didn’t happen.
King, the daughter of “SNL” alum Rob Schneider, met Ferguson in February 2016, and announced news of their engagement shortly afterwards via an Instagram pic taken in San Francisco.
“Fergie asked me to marry him on a sailboat under the Golden Gate Bridge,” she wrote. “I said yes.”
The “Exes and Ohs” singer even appeared on an episode of TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress” in order to find the perfect wedding gown, and opened up about the couple’s whirlwind romance.
“We met in London in the lobby of my hotel, and it was like we had known each other for 10 years,” the singer said. “We hung out all night, it was my last day in London, and he was like, ‘You can’t go home.’ And I didn’t get on my flight, and I stayed in London. Two days later, he quit his job and moved to America.”
She added: “He proposed 12 days after we met.”
King sparked rumours that she and her Scottish beau had split up when she posted an Instagram pic a few weeks ago of herself and two pals, captioning the shot, “All my single ladies.”
This was followed by an Instagram post in which a tearful King laments that it’s “been a really rough and insane start to this year.”
Thanks to her latest Instagram posts, it appears the relationship is over and the wedding is off, with King writing that she “skipped out on my wedding” and spent Saturday night at an Eagles of Death Metal show in Seattle.
