TMZ is reporting that Chris Brown punched a photographer during a nightclub appearance in Atlanta on Monday morning, with Tampa PD confirming an investigation into the incident is underway.
The punch then caused a fight in the club, according to the owner of the Aja Channelside nightclub. Brown was there for a paid appearance and the club’s photographer was taking pictures of the singer when they arrived at 1:30 a.m.
Brown and his entourage reportedly shut down the photographer and asked for no photos. The photographer told TMZ that he was taking crowd shots of the club goers behind Brown and that’s when the singer punched him.
Brown allegedly jumped over a couch to get at the photographer and after cornering him punched him in the face.
In the video of the incident, you can spot Brown and his manager in the brawl. TMZ says that police were called to the venue but the singer was gone before they arrived.
As a result of the fight, the photographer has a split lip and injured jaw. The club issued an apology for the fight on Facebook:
