Just when we thought we couldn’t love Ed Sheeran more, he proves us wrong once again.
After hearing terminally ill Ollie Carroll’s touching story, Sheeran responded in the best way, granting Ollie’s last wish, to meet the 26-year-old in person.
Ollie, 6, has a rare and degenerative condition called Batten Disease and is the “Shape of You” singer’s number one fan.
Sheeran invited little Ollie and his family to his show in Manchester then invited them all backstage. He even wore a red band promoting Ollie’s campaign called “Ollie’s Army” which spreads awareness of the rare disease and raises funds to buy special equipment and future research for Batten Disease.
Ollie’s mom Lucy told The Daily Mail UK that she’s over joyed that Sheeran took the time out of his day to meet with them, “To us, last night Ollie wasn’t meeting a star, he was meeting ‘his’ star, he was meeting that man that taught him the power and love of music.”
