OneRepublic fans have been wondering why the band has been absent lately and they finally have their answer. This week Ryan Tedder, the frontman of the popular group took to Facebook to reveal he was on the “verge of a nervous breakdown.”
Tedder confessed that the insane schedule caused him stress, “About three to four weeks into the promo for the second single ‘Kids’ I (Ryan) hit a physical, emotional, psychological wall,” he wrote.
“I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, not sleeping, on meds, not happy, anxiety on a crippling level and it was triggered from sheer exhaustion,” the singer told his fans. “I looked at a calendar, realized I had been gone 200 days of 2016 and still had three more weeks of being gone.. From my family, my wife, my kids, my friends, basically my life.”
The moment made him want to quit all he’s worked for and the thought of touring, Tedder said, sent him into “a sweat and made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack.”
Thankfully OneRepublic’s record label has allowed the group to take a break and they have since come up with a plan:
OneRepublic’s releasing a new song on May 12.
