Tom Hanks spilled the beans on his one-of-a-kind yacht cruise with the Obamas, Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Springsteen.
Last week, Oprah told People she “can’t talk about” what happened on her trip, insisting “What happens on the boat, stays on the boat.”
But Hanks, 60, does not hold himself to the same standard of secrecy. The “Circle” star reflected on his reaction when news of the secret expedition became public. “That made the news, it was really interesting. Both Oprah and I were really pissed off,” Hanks told Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show”.
“Look, imagine what it could’ve been like it, triple it. It was off the scale, fantastic,” the actor revealed.
The famous five gathered on a 450-foot yacht owned by billionaire David Geffan off the coast of Tahiti. The crew had lunch on Vanilla Island and made their way to Bora Bora on the 11th largest yacht in the world.
Hanks revealed that he and the Obamas rented bikes to sight-see on shore, but it was a bumpy ride for the actor to say the least. The former U.S. President and First Lady, along with the secret service, were equipped with “an array of bikes” — but the “Sleepless with Seattle” star was left riding “an undersized, girl’s bike.”
“It was rusted like all over, it only had one gear… all the others were like mountain bikes… it was so bad.”
