After becoming a father for the second time last November, Ashton Kutcher reveals it was his wife, Mila Kunis, who chose their son’s name.
While appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Monday, the 39-year-old “The Ranch” star discloses how he and Kunis unexpectedly settled on naming their baby boy Dimitri. “So we’re on our way to date night and Mila turns to me,” Kutcher recalls. “She goes, ‘So I think Donald Trump is going to be president and I think our baby’s name is Dimitri.'”
“Two weeks later, I got home from work and for some reason the name just stuck in my head and I was like, ‘I think Dimitri is the name of the baby,” the actor tells DeGeneres, adding that he never predicted Trump to win. He adds, “Everything Mila said is right! Well she’s my wife so that’s just what it is. Everything she says is right.”
Speaking of his two-year-old daughter Wyatt’s relationship with her baby brother, Kutcher says, “Wyatt thinks the baby is her baby and at some point I’m going to have to explain to her that it’s not her baby. I don’t know how I’m going to do that. She loves the baby so much.”
Kutcher adds that while his daughter doesn’t get “jealous” of the new baby, he often has to remind her to squeeze him a little less. “I’m like, ‘You’re going to squeeze the baby’s head off, hunny,” the actor recalls. “He’s like Kung Fu Panda when she comes near him because he’s afraid she’s going to kill him.”
“I went through a phase where I had to keep Wyatt alive, and then I went through a phase where I had to keep her from killing herself, and now I’m going through a phase where I have to keep her from killing the other baby,” he says. “She loves this baby maybe more than me.”
