A rambunctious fan at a Travis Scott concert on Sunday limped away with a broken leg, and possibly a fractured back, after jumping into the mosh pit — from the balcony!
According to TMZ, Scott was performing at New York City venue Terminal 5 when an adventurous fan allegedly followed his advice to take a dive from the third-floor balcony to the mosh pit on the main level.
“I see you,” Scott said before launching into his track “A-Team”, reports Mashable, “but are you gon’ do it? I ain’t gon’ lie. Turn the lights on. Don’t be scared. They gon’ catch you. Don’t be scared. Don’t be scared!”
Scared or not, one fan took a gamble and jumped – and nobody caught him. Instead, he reportedly broke his leg in the fall.
Sources reportedly close to Scott tell TMZ that he did not encourage any fans to leap from the third balcony. The rapper is said to often tell fans on the ground level to form a net to catch balcony jumpers, but he draws the line at the second floor.
A rep for the entertainer said “The safety of everyone is held in the highest regard and we are currently conducting an internal investigation to ensure that this does not happen again. We are deeply concerned about the guest who was injured and intend to offer him our support.”
Apparently, the fan managed to make it away without any assistance from EMTs or other medical personnel. “Law enforcement sources tell us nobody was cited for the incident and FDNY was not called to transport anyone,” reports TMZ.
