Cara Delevingne is an ever evolving presence in the entertainment industry and she is calling for others to challenge society’s definition of beauty.
Delevingne, 24, shaved her head last week for her role in “Life in a Year”. Now, the English entertainer is calling for a change!
The former supermodel vented her frustrations, telling fans on Instagram she was “tired of society defining beauty for us.” She is encouraging other women to make bold choices with their looks.
“Strip away the clothes, wipe off the make up, cut off the hair. Remove all the material possessions,” Delevingne wrote. “Who are we? How are we defining beauty? What do we see as beautiful?”
Just prior to her post, Delevingne shared a photo of her Met Gala 2017 outfit. The “Suicide Squad” star painted her bald head silver, embellished with Swarovski crystals at the event — but what really captured eyes was the picture’s caption.
“The more we embrace who we are as people and rely less on our physical attributes, the more empowered we become,” she wrote. “Beauty shouldn’t be so easily defined. It is limitless.”
Delevingne quit modelling in 2015, saying it made her “feel a bit hollow.”
