Jennifer Nettles first stage fall ended with a trip to the hospital.
Nettles, 42, had never suffered a fall off stage in her two decade-plus career prior to an incident in New York City on Thursday, May 4. The “Unlove You” singer was performing at a corporate function at the Hammerstein Ballroom when she tripped over a light fixture en route to the stage.
The country star confirmed on Twitter she suffered a “broken rib” and was “banged up.”
Nettles also recalled the funny conversation she had with the EMT after her accident. When asked how bad the pain was, the singer told the EMT “It’s not having a baby, but it’s close.”
She used the added attention over the rib-breaking incident to share a series of entertaining revelations, ranging from her fan support to prescription narcotics and all the way to vaginas.
The Sugarland member took a break from the duo in 2013 to focus on her individual career and released her second solo studio album “Playing with Fire” in 2016. The album debuted at number two on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and number 10 on the Billboard 200.
