Is it too early to squeal for joy? A second season has not been confirmed for the HBO hit mini-series “Big Little Lies”, but on Sunday, Reese Witherspoon certainly got fans excited.

“Spending #SundayFunday with these ladies… working on some new lies,” she captioned the photo using the See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil monkey emojis.
In the pic, Witherspoon is posing with her “BLL” co-stars Laura Dern and Nicole Kidman. Witherspoon, who also served as an executive producer on the widely popular show, has been a big advocate of continuing the main female characters’ stories in a second season.
Book author Liane Moriarty has also admitted she’s considered writing a second season for the show, expanding on the lives of the women in Monterey, California.
“The producers have asked me to see if I can come up with some ideas. I wouldn’t write a new book, but perhaps a new story and then we’ll see what happens. I’m absolutely open to it…and there’s definitely places you can go,” she recently told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Should fans of the HBO hit get their hopes up? Several reports claim that the three stars were together for a photo shoot, not for anything to do with the second season.
However, Witherspoon’s co-star Laura Dern hints that rumours of a second season may be more than rumours. “There’s talk!” Dern tells Us Weekly. “There’s questions, there’s asking! There’s curiosities, so it would certainly be a pleasure to get to do it more.”
Would Dern be game to jump into a second season? “If they are!” she says of her co-stars. “I mean, I love my character so much, so it would be a blast.”
