Harry Styles is ready to take flight into a new solo career, according to the music video for his debut single, “Sign of the Times”.
The scenic video, which debuted to fans on Monday morning, shows the former One Direction star, 23, flying high above the lush forests, rugged rock faces, and clear waters of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. According to Billboard, the video’s stunt pilot, Will Banks, claims that Styles flew “more than 1,550 feet high during the shoot.”
Over the weekend, Styles teased the new video to his fans on Twitter, showing a distant figure hovering over the vibrant landscape in a 16-second clip. The sky-high shots may not have come as a surprise to many, as the singer was previously captured by photographers behind the scenes, dangling from ropes off a helicopter.
Despite leaving One Direction for the time being, Styles has continued to see support from his fans with tickets for his first solo world tour selling out in mere seconds in a reported 29 markets on Friday. The singer’s new tour will promote his self-titled debut album, featuring “Sign of the Times”, with Columbia Records, set to be released on May 12.
The tour, which will see Styles perform at more intimate venues around the world, including Toronto’s Massey Hall, will kick off in San Francisco on September 19 as part of a 13-date North American tour and continue with 10 stops in Europe and six dates in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Japan, reports Billboard.
In high anticipation for Styles’ new album, Apple Music is releasing “Harry Styles: Behind The Album” on May 15, an in-depth look at the making of the pop star’s first solo album. “I’ve never had the process of making a full album like I did with this one,” Styles can be heard saying in the preview clip below. “I kind of wanted to see if I could write something that people liked without knowing everything about me.”
