Have you ever wondered what the world would be like without Canada? History Channel has.
A new three-part original documentary series, narrated by Emmy Award-winner Dan Aykroyd, examines the catastrophic consequences and startling global ripple effect if Canada’s contributions failed to exist. The History production examines Canadians’ impact on the world from an informative and dramatic perspective.
“Canadians are generally humble about the game-changing contributions and extraordinary achievements to humankind’s advancements we’ve made both here and around the world,” says Dan Aykroyd. “I’m proud to be part of this entertaining and suspenseful project that unapologetically showcases these accomplishments through an eye-opening lens where Canada doesn’t exist.”
Aside from its impressive CGI, the series will also include commentary from Canadian experts: data scientist and futurist, Juliette Powell; acclaimed sci-fi author, Robert J. Sawyer; historian David O’Keefe; and Merritt Turetsky, professor of ecology at Guelph University.
History’s latest imagines existence without Canada and begins May 31 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on History. “The World Without Canada” will be available the day after broadcast on History.ca and the History GO app along with related programming.
