While fans were thrilled to learn that “The First Wives Club” stars Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton were planning to reunite for a new Netflix project, Hawn had some disappointing news to share during her recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live”.
“It didn’t work out,” Hawn told host Andy Cohen. “The script was flawed and no one was able to really fix it, and everybody decided to let it go.”
The now-scrapped film was to have been called “Divination”, and would have seen the trio play the members of a former singing group who reunite for a concert tour after breaking up 30 years earlier.
As Hawn noted, this is actually a fairly typical occurrence in Hollywood, and happens to “lots and lots of movies.”
Besides, Cohen pointed out, fans would not be thrilled if the three women reunited for a new movie that turned out to be a bomb.
“Better not to do it,” Hawn agreed. “If you can’t make it better than the original movie, then you don’t want to do it. What’s the point?”
Meanwhile, during her appearance on the show, Hawn also cemented her reputation as Hollywood’s coolest mom by casually recalling the impressive size of son Oliver Hudson’s penis as she and Cohen discussed the bare-butt photo he once displayed on Instagram.
“Doesn’t he have a gorgeous tuchus?” said Hawn with a laugh when shown the pic. “When I had him circumcised, the doctor said, ‘You’ll be happy to know I had to get a bigger clamp.’ A bigger clamp! Of course, I was crying too, because I knew he was going to cry.”
She added: “It was a double edge sword, so to speak. This isn’t televised, right?”
