While most of the world seems to love Harry Styles’ debut solo single “Sign Of The Times”, fellow One Direction album Liam Payne isn’t feeling it.
Payne sat down with Music Choice to chat about his own upcoming single “Strip That Down”, where he was honest about Styles’ music, “Harry’s song… I heard… and I’ll be honest with you… It’s not my sort of music, so it’s not something I’d listen to, but I think he did a great job of doing what he wanted to do.”
But he then admitted Styles probably feels the same about his solo debut, “I think the funny thing is he’d say the same thing about me. He doesn’t really listen to hip-hop music. My song is more brazy, and his song’s more of a different era.”
Although he didn’t love “Sign of The Times”, he sang praises for his other former bandmates Zayn Malik and Niall Horan, specifically Horan’s “This Town” and new single “Slow Hands”: “I love it that Niall has gone down this singer-songwriter route, which is really cool.”
Payne’s track “Strip That Down” drops Friday, May 19.
