Katy Perry has released her newest song “Swish Swish” and Twitter thinks it may be about Taylor Swift.
On the latest song off her upcoming album “Witness”, Perry throws some shade at an unnamed individual with the lyrics:
“From a selfish or a sheep, don’t you come for me,” Perry sings. Adding, “You’re calculated. I got your number, ‘Cause you’re a joker. And I’m a courtside killer queen. And you will kiss the ring.”
Some fans think the “sheep” reference is alluding to a tweet of Perry from 2014 that was her response to Swift’s song “Bad Blood”, which is rumoured to be about Perry. The latter tweeted: “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this month, when asked if the album had a response to Swift, Perry cleverly danced around the question but said “One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone.”
Nicki Minaj is featured on the song, which is even more suspicious. The rapper notoriously found herself in a Twitter feud with Swift.
After Minaj was snubbed at the VMAs, she tweeted, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for video of the year.” Swift thought this tweet was about her and the two had a war of words.
Swift’s good friend, actress Ruby Rose, chimed in on Twitter after the song was released and threw some shade at Perry’s current singles so far like “Chained to the Rhythm” and “Bon Appétit”:
We’ll have to wait and see if Swift responds.
