A visibly emotional Salma Hayek was devastated by the bombing at Manchester Arena that took 22 lives.
Hayek, 50, confessed she was still processing the news at the Kering Women in Motion Talk at Cannes Film Festival. “I’m not going to pretend that I’m sorted out, that I’m very smart about it, because I’m still emotionally impacted,” she said according to Daily Mail.
The “Dogma” actress was heartbroken over the children killed at Ariana Grande’s concert, a horror the mother-of-one could only imagine. “In a way… I feel like the UK was invicted for a little bit. And my daughter… Ariana Grande is her favourite singer,” Hayek said of nine-year-old Valentina. “If it was in London, this concert, my daughter would have been in that concert,” she added.
“She would have been there, with or without me. This is one of the reasons why I have not slept.”
“So do I have a message? No, I haven’t processed it,” she confesses. “I’m not going to fake something. I’m opinionated when I know what I’m talking about it. I don’t even know where to begin here.”
The 2017 Cannes Film Festival cancelled several events in light of the Manchester Attack.
