Lance Armstrong has officially popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Anna Hansen.
In a new post shared to his Instagram account on Tuesday, the 45-year-old Tour de France star unveiled the happy news that he is now engaged. “She said… YES!!!!” Armstrong captioned the smiling photo with his new fiancee showing off her diamond ring.
The couple met nearly a decade ago and share two children together: Max, 7, and Olivia, 6. Armstrong also has three children — twin daughters Grace and Isabelle, 15, and son Luke, 17 — from his previous five-year marriage to author Kristin Richard.
The cyclist recently opened up about his ex-fiancee, 55-year-old country star Sheryl Crow, during an interview with Howard Stern, where he revealed that the couple had a “great” relationship, despite having issues “never” seeing each other because of their fame.
In his book Lance, he reveals that what really broke their relationship in February 2006 was that he wasn’t ready to have more children. “I had just gotten out of a marriage, I’d just had kids,” he explains. “Yet we’re up against her biological clock – that pressure is what cracked it.”
