With news of Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell calling off their engagement, many fans of “The Bachelor” are looking to Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi.
ET Canada spoke exclusively with the former teacher in her Canadian hometown of Montreal, where she revealed to us that the love between her and her reality television star fiance is real, despite what some tabloids might say.
“As soon as you’re in the limelight, there’s going to be people that are going to say positive things and people that are going to say negative things,” she explains. “We avoid that and we just concentrate on our relationship.”
Grimaldi, who plans to spend time with Viall this summer, is currently back home visiting family while she launches her new charity project for special education programs. “This is the first time I’ve been away from [Nick],” she says. “I’m starting up the fundraiser so I have a lot of things I need to prepare back home.”
Speaking about her experience on “The Bachelor”, she adds, “Going onto this show, I was skeptical and I had those questions like, ‘Can I really fall in love with someone this easily and this quick?’ And I did.”
As for making things work after the show ended, living day to day together in real life, Grimaldi says it’s the real thing. “It didn’t even have to do with the environment. We connected so quickly and so early on,” Grimaldi recalls. “And that’s what people mostly ask, like, ‘How is it between you guys? Is the love there? Is it real?’ And it is!”
