Robert Pattinson almost wasn’t Edward Cullen and now we’re thinking our world would have been totally different.
In a new interview with the New York Times, Pattinson talked about the “Twilight” series and how it impacted his career for better and for worse.
While he appreciated what it allowed him to do, it almost never happened. Pattinson revealed he was almost fired from the first movie for bad behaviour as a result of his “method acting” and rebelling a little on set. “I didn’t have to kiss anybody’s rear end the entire time. I don’t think I did, anyway.”
“I think one of the best things, basically, about being a bit of a sellout, if you’ve done five movies in a series, you’ve had to accept some responsibility for playing the same character,” Pattinson said.
Working on the series alongside ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart was a growing experience for him as an actor and a person. “It was amazing luck, as well, to just have fallen into it with the group of people I worked with on it.”
Thankfully, Pattinson was never fired and we got the Edward Cullen we deserved.
