After a turbulent past few years, Amanda Bynes is ready to return to the spotlight.
In her first public interview in four years, the 31-year-old actress, who has come under scrutiny in recent years for driving under the influence, posting controversial tweets and entering involuntary psychiatric hold, revealed her wish to return to the small screen to talk show host Diana Madison for Hollyscoop.
“I do miss acting,” Bynes explained. “I’m going to start acting again.” When asked about what type of acting, Bynes, who earned her start on Nickelodeon’s “The Amanda Bynes Show”, said, “I want to do television, maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another show where I’m the star of it in the future.”
When it comes to taking care of her mental and physical health, the former child star, who asserts she has been sober for three years, added, “I’m doing great,” noting that she has been spending her leisure time around Los Angeles taking spinning classes, going on hikes, and feeding the homeless.
With her time off from acting, Bynes said that she has also been attending the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, which she hopes will help kick-start a new fashion career. “I love it,” she said. “I’ve learned how to sew. I make patterns and I want to start a clothing line in the future.”
