While Londoners try to process the horror of the fatal blaze that engulfed a Kensington highrise on Sunday, one of the city’s more famous citizens paid a low-key visit to the site to see if there was anything she could do.
As the Daily Mail reports, singer Adele was among the many to visit Grenfell Tower, where 12 people have so far been confirmed dead in the fire while another 68 are believed to be injured.
According to the Mail, Adele and husband Simon Konecki made a “stealth” appearance at a Monday night vigil held at the site of the fiery tragedy, with a number of Twitter users sharing images of the emotional star, who reportedly “hugged and comforted” victims.
“The fact that Adele has gone to Grenfell Tower and not said a word about it just proves how amazingly sincere she is,” wrote one social media, reports the Mail. “Adele is an angel, she deserves heaven, biggest heart ever, so proud of her.”
One Twitter user reported that Adele was “asking if anyone needed help.”
