Lady Gaga is already an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, performer and soon-to-be movie star, and now she’s adding another skill to her resume: Starbucks barista!
That’s because Mother Monster has partnered with the coffee chain on Starbucks’ new “Cups of Kindness” line of iced beverages, with proceeds from sales of the frothy drinks to be donated to her Born This Way Foundation and its Channel Kindness project.
Starting on Friday, June 16, and running until Monday, June 19, participating Starbucks locations throughout the U.S. and Canada will donate 25 cents from each sale of the four specially designed drinks: Violet Drink, Pink Drink, Ombre Pink Drink and Matcha Lemonade.
“We’re healthier and happier when we live our lives with compassion,” said Lady Gaga in a statement. “Our communities are stronger when we treat one another with generosity and respect.” (In case you’re wondering, Gaga has already singled out a favourite: “I adore the entire collection and I instantly fell in love with the Matcha Lemonade,” she added.)
The money raised will go to fund programs that support overall wellness, empowerment and improvement of mental health resources for young people; Starbucks has already committed to contributing a minimum of $250,000 to the Born This Way Foundation through its partnership with Lady Gaga.
To kick off the “Cups of Kindness” campaign, Lady Gaga served as a barista for a day at a Los Angeles Starbucks on Friday, with a variety of coffee-loving fans sharing pics and video of her java-slinging exploits on social media.
