Someone in the crowd was singing “Sorry, Blame It On Me” after failing to catch Akon during a bout of crowd surfing.
Akon, 44, was performing at The Ranch Roadhouse in Edmonton when he decided to catch some sick waves across the live audience. The “Smack That” singer steadied himself on the shoulders of some fans, but his ship sunk quickly when Akon swan-dived into the crowd.
Like a surfer hitting a gnarly tide, Akon faceplanted into his fans and was quickly engulfed in a sea of sweaty bodies, as can be seen in the footage published by TMZ.
The Eminem and Snoop Dogg collaborator seemed unscathed, bobbing in and out of the crowd until he made his way back onstage.
Akon hasn’t released a full-length studio album since 2008’s “Freedom”.
