Aubrey Plaza is gearing up for her new film “The Little Hours” by doing a little research on two of her jams: nuns and weed.
“Parks and Recreation” alum an “Legion” star is showing off a couple of new “buds,” in a YouTube video for Cut.com, blazing with two members of the Sisters of the Valley, aka the “Weed Nuns”.
“The reason we grow weed is to support ourselves,” Sister Kate says, “and also to create honourable spiritual jobs for women.”
The Sisters have their own cannabis farm, where they sell holistic products (with Brothers that “do the hard work”) and according to Sister Evie, the Weed Nuns’ vows stand for chastity, ecology, activism and service.
Sister Kate explains why the group, who aren’t actually a part of the Catholic Nun Sisterhood, came to call themselves “nuns.”
“In 2011, Michelle Obama went to talk to congress about how unhealthy our children’s meals are,” she says. “Congress declared pizza a vegetable because it made our children’s meals look healthier than they are, so I declared myself a Nun. I said, ‘if pizza’s a vegetable, I’m a nun.'”
“People think we’re Catholic Nuns, they immediately want to share what they know about scripture,” she continues adding that it’s due to America’s “religious freedom” that they are allowed to “dress as a nun.”
And don’t think the nuns came empty-handed, they shared some of their private medical stash, Purple Cream, with the actress and shared their thoughts on her new film “The Little Hours”.
