Lorde earns the top spot on the Billboard 200 charts with new album “Melodrama”, making this the singer’s first number one record.
As the New Zealand born singer’s sophomore album “Melodrama” sold a total of 109,000 in it’s first week which is a slight drop from her debut “Pure Heroine”. While “Pure Heroine” sold out in its first week, it only peaked at number three.
Lorde joins two other ladies in the fight for number one, Katy Perry and Halsey, all who have nabbed the spot in the past three weeks.
After Lorde’s number one clench, Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” slides down the charts, along with Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” and Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic”.
