On Monday, “Hamilton” creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda kicked off a new internet challenge to his fans.
The idea is simple: Record yourself singing a song from the Broadway smash, post it to social media with the hashtag #Ham4All, make a donation of $10 or more to Immigrants: We Get the Job Done Coalition, and you’ll be entered to win two VIP tickets to the opening night of “Hamilton” in Los Angeles August 16.
“Hamilton” fans all over have been getting in on the fun, including some very big names. Kelly Clarkson, Ben Stiller, Steph Curry, Gina Rodriguez, Shonda Rhimes, and even the Harlem Globetrotters all got in on the fun, singing some of their favourite “Hamilton” songs, and donating money to a good cause.
One star who got in on the #Ham4All action is Jonathan Groff, who starred as King George in the play on Broadway. Groff joined Miranda for a duet, singing the Angelica part in “Satisfied”, and challenged Alfred Molina, and former “Glee” co-star Lea Michele to sing next.
A lot of the celebs taking part have been challenging their famous friends, so expect a lot more #Ham4All fun to come.
@ayeshacurry and I are collaborating with Lin-Manuel Miranda to raise money for a coalition of immigration organizations. We all feel strongly about supporting these important organizations fighting to protect immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers who want to make a better life for themselves and their families. The grand prize winner will join us and Lin-Manuel at the LA opening on August 16th. We think that this will be the biggest Hamilton sweepstakes yet, but we need your help… Head over to prizeo.com/Hamilton for more details. #ham4all #thatgirlgood
