Eric Benét took notice to being called out in JAY-Z’s mea culpa record.
The “4:44” rapper addresses his infidelity to Beyoncé on the opening track, “Kill Jay Z” while making multiple references to Halle Berry’s ex-husband, who parted ways with the Oscar winner in 2003 (ultimately divorcing in ’05) following a cheating scandal.
“You almost went Eric Benét / Let the baddest girl in the world get away,” the 47-year-old rapper rhymes. I don’t even know what else to say / n***a, never go Eric Benét.”
Benét was quick to respond on Twitter, saying that his current wife, Manuela Testolini — who was formerly linked to the late artist, Prince — is actually the baddest.
“Hey yo #Jayz! Just so ya know, I got the baddest girl in the world as my wife….like right now!” the musician wrote.
Some subtweeters had some fun with the response, suggesting that it may have been heavily influenced by Testolini.
Meanwhile, Hova’s new album comes as he, Beyoncé and their daughter, Blue Ivy, are spending quality time with the family’s new baby twins inside a rented Malibu mansion.
