Kelly Clarkson has the perfect response for anyone who feels the need to body shame.
The 35-year-old Grammy-winning pop star and coach on “The Voice” had tweeted a heartfelt July 4th message, to which a Twitter user replied, “You’re fat.”
Clarkson, who has made it clear in the past she doesn’t care what people think about her weight, responded with her usually spunk.
And fans were all over it. WARNING: Graphic language ahead.
The singer was mocked about her weight in 2015 when Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace told radio host Mike Gallagher that Clarkson “could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while” after Gallagher commented “Holy cow, did she blow up.” The pair later apologized.
Clarkson got candid with Ellen Degeneres about derogatory comments directed at her weight in 2015: “I love how people think that’s new, like ‘Welcome to the past 13 years.'”
“I was the biggest girl on [“American Idol”], too. And I wasn’t big, but people would call me big because I was the biggest one on ‘Idol’, and I’ve kind of always gotten that.”
But true to Clarkson’s positive attitude, she says you’ve gotta be who you are. “We are who we are. Whatever size, and it doesn’t mean that we’re gonna be that forever,” she said. “That’s the thing. Sometimes we’re more fit. Like especially me, I’m such a creative person that I yo-yo. So sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don’t, and I’m like …I’d rather have wine.”
