Sometimes the truth about celebrity feuds is a lot less nasty than rumours would have you believe. That turned out to be the case when Jennie Garth threw water on the rumoured feud between herself and fellow “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Tiffani Thiessen.
Those rumours starts back in May, when Garth was a guest judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” with another “90210” alum, Tori Spelling. The episode featured a drag queen dress as Valerie Malone, Thiessen’s “90210” character.
Garth appeared to not be able to bring herself to say her former co-star’s last name, saying, “As Ti– how do you say it?” Spelling then chimed in to say, “Just say, ‘That which we don’t speak of.’ ”
Many viewers thought there must be some bad blood between the stars, but in an interview with Us Weekly Garth set the record straight, blaming it on a “really weird editing situation.”
“Tori and I watched it and we were like, ‘What?’ ” Garth said. “Because I swear to God I was referring to the queen that was playing the character of Valerie and she had a really fancy name like Doolarey, I couldn’t remember it and it looked different than it came across.”
That’s it. The whole story. In fact, Garth says that she and Thiessen bumped into each other at an audition and they “did some small talk and it was great.”
Still, Garth and Thiessen did appear much closer in the past. In a 2012 interview with Howard Stern, Thiessen said she had been present at the birth of Garth’s first child and was a bridesmaid at her wedding in 2001, but that close friendship didn’t last. “We had a falling out and we grew apart,” Thiessen said. “I was the one who was hurt, let’s just say that.”
