EW Takes Fans Inside Black Panther’s Home Of Wakanda

Gracing the cover of EW’s Comic-Con preview issue, Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan tease the world of Wakanda.

Having already been introduced to Boseman’s Black Panther in “Captain America: Civil War,” fans are given an inside look at T’Challa’s homeland in the magazine.

But now, EW brings you even deeper inside the jungles that will fuel the main storyline of the film.

“T’Challa’s homeland is the site of massive natural deposits of vibranium, the near-mystical metal that composes Captain America’s shield, is woven into his Black Panther suit, and has allowed the people of Wakanda to make technological leaps nearly a century ahead of the rest of the world.”

But as the issue teases, “Wakanda has never been conquered, but that doesn’t mean ruin can’t come from within.”

Michael B. Jordan is poised as Boseman’s foe, Erik Killmonger, a “dissident from the country and aspiring prince who has colluded with a hostile foreign adversary (Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaue) in a bid to bring down the rightful heir to Wakanda’s throne.”

The cast is rounded out by Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, “Get Out” star Daniel Kaluuya, “The Walking Dead”‘s Danai Gurira, and Lupita Nyong’o, who plays Nakia, a Wakandian warrior whose job is “to stifle word of Wakanda’s secrets, hunting down its enemies with deadly force.”

The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, hits theatres Feb 16, 2018.
