Caitlyn Jenner has her eye on a new career goal, running for US Senate.
The reality star sat down with AM 970 in New York Sunday morning and revealed her next move.
“I have considered it,” she said. “I like the political side of it. The political side of it has always been very intriguing to me. Over the next six months or so, I gotta find out where I can do a better job.”
“Can I do a better job from the outside? Kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talk to anybody?” she revealed her questions about entering the policial race. “Or are you better off from the inside, and we are in the process of determining that. Yeah, but I would look for a senatorial run.”
This past April, the former Olympian told CNN’s Don Lemon, that it wasn’t until recently she actually considered getting into politics.
“Yes, I would have to look, over the next year or two, look and see, can I do a better job on the outside or am I in a position now that I can do a better job for my community on the inside,” Jenner said. “And if that’s the case, if I find us on the insider, I would seriously look at it.”
Paris Jackson has chimed in on Jenner’s idea to run for state senate. The model/actress took to Twitter to express her support, “I’d rather Laverne Cox run for senate but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.”
“Caitlyn’s got my vote,” she added.
While some of the Twitterverse didn’t agree with Jackson’s words, she stood her ground.
“Yeah, I mean I hear the LGBTQ community doesn’t really endorse her, but regardless, having a trans woman in office is still a step forward.”
