Daniel Radcliffe was on the scene to help a tourist attacked by a pair of muggers in London.
The “Harry Potter” star, along with a group of other witnesses, rushed to help the victim, a man in his 50s whose face had been slashed by the attackers.
The attackers stole the man’s Louis Vuitton bag after a scuffle
David Videcette, a former police officer who witnessed the incident from his car, told the Evening Standard, “They grappled with him on the pavement. He wasn’t going to give up the bag willingly. I tried to ram the bike with my car but I wasn’t able to.”
“They slashed him in the face with the knife and made off down the King’s Road,” he said.
After attempting to stop the muggers from driving off on their moped, Videcette returned to the scene and noticed Radcliffe among the crowd attending to the injured tourist.
“It was a bit of the surreal moment, I said ‘you’re Daniel Radcliffe’ and he replied ‘I am,'” Videcette said. “He was a really nice bloke, a lot of stars wouldn’t have stopped to help.”
A rep for the actor confirmed to ET Canada that Radcliffe was “present at the scene,” but could not comment further as it is a “police matter.”
The Daily Mail reports this is another in a series of incidents involving criminals riding mopeds in London, including five acid attacks last week in the city.
