While all eyes are on Daniel Craig as he reportedly mulls over returning as James Bond, Chris Hemsworth has an idea for his replacement should he not reprise his role as 007.
Hemsworth tells W magazine his “Snow White And The Huntsman” co-star Charlize Theron fits the bill because, “she scares the Hell out of me and I think she can beat me up [better than] most villains out there.”
The actor was in awe of Theron on “Snow White”, watching her tackle complex choreographed fight scenes with ease, even in a long gown and high heels.
“Watching her in those fight scenes, doing it in high heels, by the way, and an 8-foot long gown was even more impressive,” he says, calling her, “Smart as Hell.”
Her upcoming turn as a Cold War MI6 agent in the action-packed “Atomic Blonde” should further her already long-list of credentials for the role as she masterfully beats up bad guys in intense, hand-to-hand combat scenes. For Hemsworth, the Oscar-winning actress definitely has what it takes to be the next James Bond.
“She embodies every sort of ounce of strength and nobility and dignity and integrity that that character should have,” he says. “Why not? It’s time.”
While there hasn’t been a definitive announcement of plans for the next Bond, sources close to the production say Craig has reportedly agreed to come back for another outing as 007.
The actor previously told TimeOut he’d rather “slash [his] wrists than do another Bond movie.” In September last year, it was alleged that producers offered the actor $150 million to return for another two movies.
There’s been no official comment or announcement from Craig’s team on the role.
