Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his wife, businesswoman and Fellow Robots founder Tasha McCauley, have welcomed another baby boy into their lives, a rep confirms to ET Canada.
The couple’s second child was born in June; no further details, including the boy’s name, have been revealed publicly.
The “Snowden” star and his robotics expert wife were married in 2014 and share another son, who will celebrate his second birthday next month. While the happily married pair choose to keep their personal lives private, McCauley’s baby bump was spotted while she was on a stroll in Beverly Hills with her husband back in May. The pregnancy news was later confirmed by a rep for the 36-year-old actor.
Gordon-Levitt has spoken previously about his choice to keep his relationship and family out of the public eye. “The girl that I’m with, she really doesn’t want to be part of that, and you can imagine not wanting to have that kind of scrutiny,” he told Howard Stern in 2013, referring to McCauley, who is also VP of Business Development at GeoSim.
When it comes to his children, the “(500) Days Of Summer” star said he wants them to be afforded the same choice that he was given when he decided to embark upon a career as an actor.
“Being in the public eye is a great thing,” he explained during a 2015 interview on “Live! With Kelly and Michael.” “It allows me to do what I love to do, which is act in movies, but it’s a choice that I made.”
Gordon-Levitt added: “My son, he’s just a baby, you know? He hasn’t made the choice to be in the public eye, and that’s a choice that I would like him to be able to make when he’s older, when he can think about these kinds of things and make that decision for himself.
“For now, I’m just a protective dad, and I want to protect his privacy,” he concluded.
