Jennifer Aniston is coming back to TV.
The Hollywood Reporter announced on Thursday that Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are joining forces for a new TV series.
What’s the plot? The still untitled series centers around morning TV shows set in New York and all that goes on in front of and behind the camera. The idea for the show comes from the former head of HBO Michael Ellenberg.
Steve Kloves, Aniston and Witherspoon will also executive produce the series. As of right now, the show hasn’t been picked up by a network or streaming service yet, but the show will be optioned to HBO and Netflix in the next few weeks.
This marks Aniston’s first official full-time return to TV since “Friends” ended in 2004. Since then, Aniston has starred in box-office smashes like “We’re the Millers”, “Bruce Almighty” and “The Break-Up” and has had guest starring roles on “30 Rock” and “Cougar Town”.
Speaking of “Friends”, Witherspoon, of course, played Rachel Green’s younger sister Jill on the show in season six.
The Green sisters are together again.
