Axl Rose made a surprise appearance at Billy Joel’s Minneapolis concert on Friday night, joining the Piano Man onstage to duet on a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” and Joel’s “Big Shot”.
In the fan-shot video (above), the Guns N’ Roses frontman sings along with Joel, who handles piano duties, as they rip into the heavy metal classic.
As Rolling Stone reminds, Joel has made “Highway to Hell” a staple of his live shows in recent years, with his longtime roadie — nicknamed “Chainsaw” — handling the lead vocals. Rose, on the other hand, is also no stranger to the song, having filled in for longtime AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson when vocal problems forced him to take a leave of absence from the band in the middle of a tour last year.
This isn’t the first time that Rose has joined Joel for a surprise appearance to perform these songs. Back in May, the two performed the same tunes together at Dodger Stadium in L.A.
