Jill Duggar’s husband Derrick Dillard is getting huge backlash after posting a transphobic tweet on Wednesday about “I Am Jazz” star Jazz Jennings.
TLC had tweeted a promotion for a summer contest featuring a photo of Jennings, encouraging followers to watch “I Am Jazz”.
Dillard responded by quote-tweeting TLC—which also airs the show he stars in, “Jill and Jessa: Counting On”—with his own transphobic views on Jennings and gender.
Dillard even defended his remarks from one person who thought he’d crossed a line.
Jennings responded to Dillard’s comment with a tweet saying that today is “no different” and she continues to experience cyber-bulling:
TLC released a statement to TMZ saying that Dillard’s comments are his own and it is a “personal statement” not reflecting the network or its views.
The response to Dillard’s tweet was swift and strong, with people calling out his comment as bigoted, defending Jennings.
