The world may never get to see the Donald Trump inspired episode of “Law & Order: SVU”.
During the TCA press tour on Thursday, NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt addressed the long delayed episode and said it will probably never air.
“It’s now really anachronistic, episode about an election a year after an election just seems kind of pointless to air,” he explained. “I don’t think it makes sense to put it on next season, it would feel out of date,” Greenblatt continued.
In the episode titled “Unstoppable”, a Trump-like character, who is played by Gary Cole in the episode, makes a run for office. His plans are deterred when several women claim he sexually assaulted them. The episode was pushed throughout all of the previous season because of the election and Trump’s victory.
When asked about Trump’s “The Apprentice”, the show he previously hosted and continued to executive producer, Greenblatt said there are also no plans to continue with the reality series.
“We don’t really have any plans for ‘The Apprentice’, and I think at the moment, we’ll wait and see what happens. We don’t have room for it either,” he said.
