Arcade Fire continues to set the charts ablaze.
The Montreal-based band is celebrating their third consecutive number one album after their current release, “Everything Now”, landed on top of the Billboard 200 album chart. The group’s previous two releases, 2013’s “Reflektor” and 2010’s “The Suburbs”, also debuted at #1.
In an era dominated by rap, hip hop, and pop, Arcade Fire is only the second rock band to enjoy a #1 debut so far this year. The first was Linkin Park, whose album “One More Light” debuted on top in June. That’s not the only thing the two bands have in common; Arcade Fire and Linkin Park are the only two rock groups to have earned three #1 albums during this decade.
Arcade Fire take the stage Sunday night in Chicago as part of the 2017 Lollapalooza lineup before the band brings their Infinite Content tour to North America, kicking off in September in Quebec City.
