One of music’s favourite producers, Zedd, covers Billboard magazine where he opens up about his relationship with Selena Gomez, standing up against Donald Trump and collaborating with Kesha.
Although the Russian star didn’t hint at any current relationships, he did spill some juicy details about his ex Gomez.
“Reporters were calling my parents. People were hacking my friends’ phones. I was pissed,” he revealed. “She is one of the most talked about people in the world, but I had no idea how much that would change my life.”
Not only did the pair date, they were collaborators on the track “I Want You To Know”, but Zedd’s next big collab comes with “Praying” singer Kesha.
The 27-year-old DJ told the mag he reached out to Kesha during her court case against Dr. Luke: “It was just a therapy thing, making music with someone to help them feel better.”
But one thing Zedd wants his fans to know is always to speak out about what you believe in, especially when it comes to U.S. President Donald Trump.
“No matter how big the scandal is, no matter how insane a [Trump] tweet is, it just keeps going,” he said. “You feel powerless, and that’s terrible to me.”
But he adds that his fellow artists should take note. “They don’t want to lose fans. I understand where they are coming from, but I disagree with that being a good reason not to speak up,” he says.
Zedd’s issue of Billboard mag is available now.
