Earlier this week, CBS revealed that Erinn Hayes’ character in “Kevin Can Wait” will have been killed off when the Kevin James-starring sitcom returns for its second season in the fall, following the network’s earlier announcement that Hayes would be exiting the show.
However, the actress may have another gig on the horizon, if an idea from a sharp-eyed fan comes to fruition.
“Last I checked, @TheMandyMoore had a sister on @NBCThisIsUs,” a fan wrote Hayes on Twitter, clearly referencing the resemblance between the two actresses. “If she hasn’t been cast yet, I nominate @hayeslady for the role.”
Hayes responded, saying that she’d be up for it — and that, in fact, she had once played Moore’s sister in a pilot that never made it on the air.
Will the producers of “This Is Us” take the hint and cast Hayes as sister of Moore’s character? Stay tuned…
Meanwhile, Hayes’ exit from “Kevin Can Wait” clears the way for Leah Remini to join the show as a series regular, reuniting her with her former “King of Queens” co-star.
Viewers will find out how that all plays out when “Kevin Can Wait” returns with a new season on Monday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
